Visit

More

We will  be visiting Avalon in Dunkirk, a lovely garden which will be open under the National Gardens Scheme.  The following is a description of the garden.  Further information is available on:  https://ngs.org.uk/gardens/avalon-me1/.
Avalon,
57 Stoney Road,
Dunkirk,
Kent,
ME13 9TN

"The garden has been designed to flow with interlinked paths and beds linking the wooded and more open areas. Advantage has been taken of the many different planting conditions from shade to sun and from damp to dry, and improvements are constantly being made to add interest and new plants. There are lots of hidden areas. Wherever possible planting has been used to attract wildlife such as birds and insects. ... The garden is often described as a “Woodland wonderland”. It has wonderful ever changing atmospheric views of the local countryside.”
The garden closes at 4pm so to ensure we have sufficient time, we will meet at Green Court on Western Avenue, Bridge at 12.50pm with a view to departing at 1pm.

Entry to the garden is £7 and tickets can be purchased on the day.  Refreshments are available.  NB: this venue is cashless, so if you wish you can purchase tickets online, using the link given above

Welcome to the Nailbourne Horticultural Society Web Site.

Background

We are a very friendly and relaxed Society.

Our meetings are open to everyone and even if you don't consider yourself a gardener, we would be delighted to see you. You will certainly receive a warm welcome.

We arrange regular evening talks on a variety of topics connected with gardening. On a summer evening we usually arrange an outing to a garden or somewhere of interest not too far away.
